[20:03] *** The passage turns, and they walk into a wide, low-ceilinged chamber. The cobblestoned floor is strewn with dirt and moss, and on the other side of the room a few steps lead up to a platform where there's a plinth surrounded by what look like stone stools. There's something ON that plinth, too.
[20:05] *** The walls are decorated with hundreds of intricate carvings of stone faces, all of which have freaky and weird expressions.
[20:05] <ART-556> We have nothing to fear here.
[20:06] * Indiana Soppo blocks ART-556 and pushes her into the wall.

[20:10] *** There's a loud FRAAAAAP sound as a highly-pressurized pulse of air is finally released (sounding like a massive FART), firing a bronze art out of one of the face-holes with bullet-like force, lodging deeply into the wood of the torch!

[19:07] <Bren> However, about a year after the pharaoh would return to Egypt, the city of Tanis was consumed by the desert in a sandstorm which lasted a whole year.

[19:10] <Lewis> Frankly, we're somewhat suspicious of Mr. Langister given his ultimate collections with the Kitsune and being so prominently mentioned within the Crimson Axis.

[19:13] <Indiana Soppo> Well, the staff is just a stick. Regular staff. And it's capped with an elaborate headpiece in the shape of the sun or something, with a crystal in the center. And what you did was take the staff to a special room in Tanis, a map room with a miniature of the city all laid out on the floor, and if you put the staff in a certain place at a certain time of day, the sun shined through the crystal and makes a beam of light that comes down on the floor.

[19:10] * Indiana Soppo and Chibi-AnTil are walking through the crowds, exploring and experiencing all the sights, sounds, and smells of the place. The scents of human living mixes with cooking foods, spices, and strong coffee fire-roasting in small pits of sand.

[19:11] * Chibi-AnTil is carrying the Fennec on his shoulder.

[20:23] *** Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, and several other German T-Dolls run by, failing to notice anything out of the ordinary in the area as they hurry past, and continue down the alley. Chibi-AnTil successfully evaded detection!

[19:17] * Negev helps Indiana Soppo get into the passenger side of the van. Fennec fox hops into the van too.

[19:18] * Fennec fox peers around and sees SPR A3G lurking nearby.
[19:19] * SPR A3G motions with her hand for the Fennec to stay low and wait.

[19:20] <Negev> I made the arrangements with the scholar. First we take the kids back to their school, then I'll take you to see her.
[19:21] * Negev gets in the van and everyone starts driving. SPR A3G follows closely behind at a steady trot since the streets are habitually crowded with pedestrians.
[19:24] *** The scene switches, and Indiana Soppo and Negev are inside what appears to be a small library that doubles as someone's home. It's nighttime now, and the streets are calmer now. In the distance there's faint music playing and some chanting of prayer.
[19:26] *** A housekeeper is in the kitchen behind Sopmod, cooking up some dumplings.

[19:31] * SPR A3G goes over to the platter of dumplings, opens a small bottle of clear liquid, and pours the contents onto the dumplings before rushing back outside.

[19:31] * Koakuma sees the back door partially open and hurries over to close it, taking a few moments to look outside first.

[19:34] * Indiana Soppo is now in the main den with Negev and the host, the great scholar of the town!!
[19:36] *** The room is somewhat small, but the walls are lined with bookcases and scrollcases, and every one of them is filled with all manner of books, pamphlets, and scrolls containing all sorts of knowledge.
[19:37] * Keine Kamishirasawa is seated in the middle of the room on what looks like a bean-bag chair, closely examining the Medallion.
[19:38] <Indiana Soppo> Where did she get a copy of the headpiece?
[19:38] <Indiana Soppo> There aren't any pictures or duplicates of it anywhere.
[19:40] <Negev> I can only tell you what I saw with my own eyes. It was a headpiece just like that one. Except around the edges, which were rougher. In the center, there was a crystal, and surrounding the crystal on one side, were raised markings just like that one.
[19:40] * Koakuma brings out the dumplings, a pitcher of water, and a few glasses, putting them all on one of the few cleared tables in the room.
[19:41] <Indiana Soppo> Did they already make their calculations in the Map Room?
[19:42] <Negev> This morning. UMP-45 and the Crimson Axis commander, HK-416, when they came out of the Map Room, they gave us a new spot in which to dig.
[19:42] <Negev> Out away from the main camp.

[19:43] * Indiana Soppo takes a dumpling.
[19:43] * Fennec fox hops up onto the table and starts to sniff-sniff the plate of dumplings. :D

[19:54] *** The Fennec fox is lying motionless on the table now. Partially-devoured bits of dumplings are scattered around it and smeared on its muzzle. But the Fennec is clearly dead now.

[19:58] *** The scene switches again. Now it's morning, and it's the desert. Catriona and Alexianna clearly had a pretty decent budget, because there's HUNDREDS of extras out in the desert digging and excavating in the sand.
[20:00] *** There's wooden scaffolding and walkways set up, and plenty of German T-Dolls overseeing the workers. Since there aren't any deserts in Gensokyo, this part was very likely filmed on location somewhere. Likely the planet Moatoob or possibly Eridenia.

[20:09] <Indiana Soppo> Which doesn't give us much time. Where are they digging for the Well of Souls?
[20:10] * Negev points towards a large, barren hill in the distance. "Right there..."
[20:10] * Negev points towards a low, flat hill a short distance away in a different direction. "But the Map Room is right over there."
[20:12] * Negev and Indiana Soppo quickly make their way up to the stone-ringed opening near the top of the hill. Looking down it, they see a much-larger chamber below, its floor hidden by a thick layer of sand.
[20:12] * Indiana Soppo drops a long wooden staff down the hole first.
[20:13] * Negev tries to be inconspicuous as she drops a bundle of rope down after it.
[20:19] * Indiana Soppo quickly climbs down the rope.
[20:20] *** The chamber is quite large. Clearly the "hill" is actually completely encrusting and covering the original building, sealing it within a stone-like outer shel.
[20:21] *** Parts of the walls are covered in hieroglyphics showing all kinds of females gyrating and gesturing in weird, contortionist poses, and ALL of the women pictured have perky ears and multiple fluffy tails!
[20:23] * Indiana Soppo takes a moment to look at one section, which shows a foxgirl in white and blue seemingly conjuring up a gigantic fox-like monster against another girl (who doesn't have perky ears or fluffy tails) who's wearing a white and black coat and armed with a longbow which she's using to oppose the beast.
[20:24] *** Another set of hieroglyphics shows a brown-haired girl in red fighting with a sword against a white-haired girl with a chain around her neck. The white-haired girl seems to be winning.
[20:31] * Indiana Soppo makes her way to the center of the room, where there's a detailed scale model of the original ancient city of Tanis and how it looked before the disaster that claimed it.
[20:32] * Indiana Soppo sees there's an area that's been surrounded by sticks sunk into the sand which thread ringing it, and markings made in red ink on a building with sloped sides.
[20:32] <Indiana Soppo> There's the location UMP-45 got...
[20:33] *** Outside, Negev stiffens as she hears someone coming up behind her.

[20:52] * Indiana Soppo removes the headpiece and stashes it away, then BREAKS the staff and hides it in the sand.
[20:53] * Indiana Soppo records down all of the necessary information she needs to estimate the location of the building SHE got, partly using UMP-45's marked-out building as a reference.

[20:54] * Indiana Soppo stands below the entrance hole and waits impatiently.
[20:58] *** Suddenly a thick bundle of tied-together bedsheets and pillow-cases cascades down. Waiiiit, some of those pillowcases are dakimakura of various T-Dolls and Seadolls!!

[18:35] * Indiana Soppo turns to Negev and the diggers she managed to find.

[18:35] * Fennec Foxes by the dozen sit before Indiana Soppo and Negev, their tails wiggling.

[18:40] <Indiana Soppo> All right. GO!
[18:41] *** The Fennec Foxes all squeal happily as they rush forward towards the areas marked out by Negev and Sopmod-2 and start digging like crazy!
[18:43] *** The scene switches a few times, showing the Fennecs still digging as the sun goes down, transforming the sky into a blazing red-orange as they happily sing away.
[18:43] <Fennec Foxes> ♫ I am a fox and I'm digging a hole! Diggy-diggy-hole~! Diggy-diggy-hole~! ♫
[18:45] *** Finally, it's nighttime, and it looks like thick stormclouds are blowing in. The wind is blowing ominously, and lightning is striking the ground in the far distance.
[18:45] <Negev> SOPPO! WE'VE HIT STONE!!
[18:47] * Indiana Soppo quickly drops her shovel and hurries over. Several Fennecs are rapidly pawing dirt away from the top of a rough, lumpy stone surface that's finally been unearthed after thousands of years.
[18:47] <Indiana Soppo> Hurry! Clear it all now. Find the edges!
[18:49] * Negev drops to her knees and helps the Fennecs as they all dig with their hands (or paws) to clear away the whole surface they found.
[18:50] *** It takes a minute, but the stone surface they found turns out to be a rectangular slab.
[18:50] <Negev> Keep going! Find the edges!
[18:53] *** The Fennecs keep dig-digging away, and some the sand and dirt is cleared away around the circumference of the slab. The slab is roughly seven by four feet, and over an inch thick. It soon become apparent that it's actually covering something else.

[18:54] * Indiana Soppo and Negev both get very large metal prybars and position themselves on one side of the slab. They then get to work on wedging the prybars underneath the lip of the slab.
[18:56] *** Gradually, slowly, they manage to lift up the slab a little, shift it slightly, and they work together to push the slab back. With a sound like a deep groan, a blast of air surges out from beneath the slab as the seal is broken!

[19:08] *** The scene switches to the interior of the tent where Chibi-AnTil has been tied up. It's been hours since Sopmod-2 found him, and he's fallen asleep. A laborer comes inside carrying a tray of food and water and sets it down on a nearby table.
