[20:10] * Reisen-2 (Q.E.C.) connects whatever she's using to play the recording to the QEC and broadcasts it to the Hotel. The image starts off pretty grainy, but resolves to show a reasonably detailed city of large size. Overall, it seems like a nice place to live with its large avenues, well-planned layout, and mountains in the distance. The only problem is that a vicious war has broken out.
[20:12] * The image plays from the perspective of someone wearing a body-camera, rushing down a ruined, smoke-wreathed street, following after two young women wearing...wait, they're wearing highly-modified Senshi fukus, but suits that look quite a bit more practical.
[20:13] <Burroughs> ♦ (Oh that looks suspicious already.)
[20:14] * Wait ...one of the girls up ahead has brownish hair done in twin-tails, and the other has long straight silver-white hair. From the back they look like the two girls who were identified as UMP-9 and HK-416.
[20:14] <Burroughs> ♦ (Suspicions intensify.)
[20:16] * is rushing towards a Pelican dropship that's waiting in an abandoned parking lot. Another girl in a modified Senshi outfit is waving everyone forward.
[20:16] <Alliance Senshi> Get onboard! We're retreating right now!
[20:19] * The Camera-senshi hurries onboard, closely following the other girls whom, as they sit down in the crash seats, DEFINITELY look almost identical to two of the girls who were attacked on the road.
[20:20] * The Camera-senshi moves aside a little as a fourth member pushes her way past. She's very short with long silver hair...yup, she looks familiar too.
[20:21] <The Camera-senshi> Team #4 onboard and ready to relocate. What's the situation? Have the Van Saar broken through?
[20:21] <Burroughs> ♦ (OK, this is getting a little odd, to say the least. Did the Alliance somehow get their hands on a few Senshi for their own purposes? Or did they manage to replicate some of their abilities?)
[20:25] <Voice on the radio> Be advised, we have a major situation here. Van Saar ground forces have withdrawn offworld, but they left something behind at the main planetary defense force starport. We think it may be some kind of bomb and that the attack was meant to provide cover to put it in place. Specialist teams are moving in to investigate but until it's verified as safe all Senshi Striker Teams are to fall back.
[20:29] * In the meantime the Pelican dropship has taken off and is flying low over the city, joined by another dropship. Suddenly, both of them start being shot at from the ground by pulse-cannons and missiles.
[20:29] <Sailor UMP-9> What the?!
[20:30] <Sailor HK-416> We're taking fire! We're taking fire! The area is HOT! Area is HOT!
[20:31] <Burroughs> ♦ (More and more this is getting interesting.)
[20:31] * The other dropship rocks as it takes a missile to one of its wings that brows out the engine. It rocks heavily in midair as if it's staggering, steadily losing altitude and trailing fire and thick smoke.
[20:33] <Voice> Mayday! Mayday! We're going down! Starboard engine is out and we've lost attitude control. We are going down!
[20:34] <The Camera-senshi> Command, the Van Saar have NOT completely withdrawn! We're taking ground fire. Pelican-226 has been shot down.
[20:35] * The Camera-senshi is watching as the damaged Pelican falls out of her line of sight, but the dropship everyone is riding on slows down to almost a hover and starts to double back. A large plume of smoke starts to rise from among several small buildings, and a moment later the thunder of an explosion reaches the girl.
[20:36] <The Camera-senshi> Command, we have a visual on Pelican-226. We can see small arms fire coming from within. Request permission to perform a rescue.
[20:39] * At the same time, the other Senshi with her are at the edge of the still-open boarding ramp, firing combat spells down at the ground below, returning fire as sporadic gauss rifle fire impacts against the hull, creating a piercing symphony of metal against metal.
[20:40] <Command> Copy, Strike Team 4. Be advised that you may NOT be at a safe distance in the event that device is actually a nuclear bomb of some kind. Do you understand?

[20:46] * The voice of the pilot of the crashed dropship is coughing heavily and it sounds like he's struggling to push, pull, or lift something. All the while there's lots of gunfire nearby.

[20:47] * The dropship settles down onto the street and all four of the Senshi onboard take positions at the end of the ramp.

[20:51] * All four of the Alliance Senshi rush down the street, hugging the walls of buildings and ducking behind abandoned and wrecked cars as they quickly advance. At one point a couple of what are OBVIOUSLY Van Saar Guardsmen rush out of an alley up ahead, only to get blasted from behind by a volley of powerful mana-bolts.
[20:53] <Command> Be advised, Team 4. You have hostiles approaching parallel to your position towards the crash site.
[20:55] * Up ahead Sailor "HK-416" fires another mana-bolt volley at close range into the back of one of the downed Van Saar as they all charge past them. "Hurry! We have 90 seconds! No one gets left behind!"
[20:59] * They all quickly rush up to the crashed dropship, which has come down upon what looked like a 7-Up delivery truck. Oh god, the mess was horrific - the bottles exploded and flew off like rockets in all directions, breaking any shop window in the area that hadn't been broken and turning the dirt on the street into a sticky mess.
[21:03] <Burroughs> ♦ (Coolspot would be having a coronary upon seeing that.)
[21:03] * The Camera-senshi quickly reaches the c[BLEEP]kpit and pulls the pilot out of his seat. Part of the wall had crumpled inwards, pressing up against part of his chair and preventing the crash harness from unlocking. The girl has to use a knife to cut the pilot free. She then helps carry him out through the rear door.
[21:04] * The Camera-senshi tosses the pilot up onto her shoulder and all four Senshi begin to rapidly sprint away, back towards their own dropship.
[21:04] * HOTEL Systems record that Eliza's vital signs have changed, according to the life-support equipment operating in the Coffin unit where her body is.
[21:06] * The Camera-senshi rushes up the boarding ramp of the waiting dropship, yelping loudly as there's a loud THMP and she collapses to the floor.
[21:07] * Sailor "G11" rushes up and grabs the pilot, helping him to one of the passenger seats. Meanwhile, "UMP-9" and "HK-416" rush up to check on the Camera-Senshi.

[21:08] <Sailor "HK-416"> It's a through-and-though her thigh. No hemorrhaging...I think the shard missed the femoral.

[21:13] <Command> All Alliance Senshi Strike Teams! Evacuate! Evacuate! Specialist teams have identified the device as an unknown type of weapon of mass destruction. We...!
[21:14] * The recording suddenly loses resolution as a darkness engulfs everything. It's as if a solar eclipse suddenly occurred without any warning or transition.
[21:15] <Burroughs> ♦ (Hmmm, I wonder....)
[21:16] * The images become very choppy and broken for a few seconds, then clear up to show...OH GOD.
[21:18] * The image now shows the wrecked interior of a crashed dropship, its walls scorched and buckled inwards from the impact of landing. The Senshi with the body camera is slowly and painfully pulling herself forward by her hands. Outside, there's the sounds of howling winds, gasping, and coughing.
[21:21] * The Camera-senshi pulls herself outside, coughing so heavily that it sounds like she's almost drowning or something. The wet sounds her coughs are making suggest that that might be the case.
[21:22] * The image shows that most of the city has been heavily damaged by the explosion in the distance...but the huge mushroom cloud that's rising up is BLACK in color and casting a lurid ebony glow. Something is VERY wrong with it. Nearby...
[21:24] * Nearby the other Senshi that were part of her team are on the ground, stricken. Sailor "G11" is nowhere to be seen. Sailor "UMP-9" is staggering around several meters away like she's drunk or something before suddenly stiffening and flopping over.
[21:25] * Sailor "HK-416" is lying on her back, convulsing and frothing at the mouth. Her skin is getting paler...and dark veins are becoming very visible underneath her skin.

They continue to show that her brainwaves, blood pressure and heartbeat, etc., all change again at precise intervals, each lasting either one minute or three minutes, with gaps between the changes of either one minute, three minutes or seven minutes. These changes continue for a precise amount of minutes, and then cease again. The vitals then go back to the slow heartbreat and alpha--dominated brainwaves indicating great happiness, and stay there for hours at a time.

[14:41] * The faucets in the room run with greater insensity, and the room fills with steam even more, almost like a sauna. A softly-padded footrest raises from the front of the chair as Matsumi's hair is being done. A brush with gentle exfoliant scrubs Matsumi's feet.
[14:42] * One of the bottles of conditioner retreats from its orbit around D.Kakaku, and generously empties itself over Matsumi's head beneath the warm water jets.

[14:43] * The nail polish brushes flit around Matsumi's feet, and come in on swiftly-curving approaches to deposit a coat of nail polish on Matsumi's toes, and then go back to dip themselves into the bottle of polish.

[14:44] * This is quite a site of course, but Matsumi herself cannot see it since her face and eyes are covered by the steamed and perfumed towels.

[14:46] * The faucets all suddenly quit, and the water trickles to a stop.

[14:47] * Hair Dryers advance on Matsumi Kaze from all over the room, as a dry towel is touseled through its hair with nobody supporting it.

[14:48] * Hair Dryers blow air on her hair. Two more blow hot air on her hands to dry her manicure, and two others blow dry air on her feet.

[21:17] <Officer Kagami Hiiragi> I heard about the Alliance Senshi Strike Teams. They were an attempt to produce elite military specialists that used magical powers almost exclusively.
[21:18] <Megan O`Cain> Reallu? Do tell.
[21:19] <Officer Kagami Hiiragi> Something about artificially distilling and replicating the powers of an actual Sailor Senshi. According to the mythos, each world had a single Senshi defender, but one Senshi can only be in one place at a time. The rumor was that by distilling down their power, multiple fighters of lesser power could be created.
[21:21] <Officer Kagami Hiiragi> It didn't work though. The entire unit was wiped out very early on in the war. In fact, it was destroyed by the Van Saar during their first engagement. It's one of the reasons why the Alliance fleet and their allies fought so hard to break the blockade over Arcadia.
[21:22] <Officer Kagami Hiiragi> They were trying to rescue survivors from the Strike Teams, but the Van Saar were destroying everything that tried to escape from the planet.
