SO MY COMPUTER CRASHED
BECAUSE I HAD A POWER OUTAGE AND WHILE MY UPS KICKED IN I COULD NOT FUGURE OUT HOW TO HIBERNATE THE STUPID VISTA SYSTEM. I THOUGHT I WAS AN IDIOT FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND THE OPTION TO ENABLE HIBERNATE SUPPORT. THEN I READ THIS:
Ability to hibernate is enabled by default on every Windows Vista installation. If you have disabled, turned off hibernation, or accidentally deleted hiberfil.sys using Hibernation File Cleaner or the Disk Cleanup tool, or you just simply cannot and unable to find the Hibernate button to put the computer into hibernation state. In Windows Vista, users are no longer able to enable or disable hibernation via desktop graphical user interface. You turn on the hibernation functionality in Vista again with the following command:I TYPED THAT IN AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HIBERNATION WAS ABN OPTION AGAIN. WHAT MORON DECIDED IT WOULD BE SMART TO REMOVE HIBERNATE SUPPORT FROM THE GUI? THAT MORON SHOULD RECOVER MY WORKSPACE FROM THIS MORNING ><How to Enable and Turn On Hibernation Feature in Vista 1. Click Start button, then type Cmd in the Start Search box. 2. In the search results list, right click on “Cmd” and click on Run as Administrator item on contextual menu. 3. In the command prompt window, type the following command: powercfg -h on
