2 Fast 2 Furious Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 60

Haruka's old corner graphics. What can I say, I think the theme fits the Senshi of speed perfectly.

Hotaru Mysterium Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 59

Hotaru's old corner graphic, which went up right after I got the news her story had won the 2003 Senshi'ichi Budokai.
Yes, she has no mouth, but must scream..

Dark Power Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 58

Jedite's old corner graphic... the quote comes from Thulsa Doom in Conan the Barbarian, and the uniform and background are the Dark Kingdom variants introduced in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.

A woman scorned Dr. Xadium [Reply]

Another corner graphic, this one for Kaiou Michiru. The quote, of course, is from Billy Shakespeare, who plagiarised it from the original Klingon.

rei.bot Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 56

The old Suburban Senshi IRC layout used corner graphics for each of the characters. This one is for rei.bot, the android clone of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon's Sailor Mars, Kitagawa Keiko-san.

50,000 hits Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 55

This picture was a prize for the 50,000th visitor to Suburban Senshi, Aki Kirasagi. She requested a picture with Haruka Ten'ou, and this is the result.
This picture was the first one I have ever done using Illustrator for inking purposes.

The Hunger Dr. Xadium [Reply]

Hama Chisaki likes to eat. Yes, she does. This theme has been extrapolated to its logical conclusion in this Photoshop work, which details one possible end to the Dark Kingdom Arc of Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.

Sailor V Revividus Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 53

This picture is a remake of one of the earliest Photoshop works I did. The source of the original was lost in a hard disk crash, and I wanted to see how far I had come artistically from that early, primitive attempt.
This picture was reworked from the original's low quality jpg which is also in this gallery. I took the liberty of correcting certain flaws in the original that the Sailormoon animators had put in, such as getting Sailor V's gloves, sleeves and back bow wrong.
Why did I choose this one? Because Episode 10 of Pretty Guardian Sailormoon is coming up, and though I haven't watched it, I strongly suspect it will spell the end of Sailor V... so I present this image in tribute to the Original Sailor Soldier.

A Present for You Dr. Xadium [Reply]

consider this my best work yet, even it wasn't as technically difficult as some of the others. I used a lot of tricks I picked up over the years, and put them all together for what I consider to be good effect.
This picture started life as a rework of a scan from Codename: Sailor V-- but as much as I admire the work of Takeuchi-sensei, I like the anime style more... therefore Minako's body (heavily modified in the wardrobe department, is manga-style, and her head is anime style.
A high quality print of this picture resided in a frame on my desk, and I was going to keep it all to myself, but decided to share it in honour of the first anniversary of the Suburban Senshi blog.

Smile, Baka Dr. Xadium [Reply]

No. 51

This one was an experiment to see what I could do with photoshop, modifying a picture of a real person into one featuring my favorite subject, Aino Minako. I like to think the experiment turned out well. :)
Annoyingly, I had wanted to do a "queen of sheba" pose, with her reclining on a couch and reaching for some grapes, but I could not find a proper model picture
