[11:51] <@S.X. Aino> hihihihihihihihihihihihi
[11:51] <FireFly_9> ....
[11:52] * @S.X. Aino is as giddy as a schoolgirl on a sugar high
[11:52] <FireFly_9> Any particular reason?
[11:52] <@S.X. Aino> hihihihihihihi it's about time it's about time and I'm not being punny XD!
[11:52] <@S.X. Aino> Well maybe I am but that's neither ear nor there!
[11:52] <FireFly_9> "Here nor there"
[11:53] <@S.X. Aino> That too, I suppose hihihihihihihihi
[11:53] <FireFly_9> So what has you so excited?
[11:53] <@S.X. Aino> Finally after the long course of years, it is time...
[11:53] <FireFly_9> I wouldn't have thought such concepts applied to you...
[11:53] <@S.X. Aino> Oh don't be difficult Hotaru-P :P
[11:54] * @S.X. Aino has been keeping her thumb on the pulse of this project for a looong time both past and future
[11:54] <FireFly_9> Oh, get on with it, when you're like this you're hardly any better than your mother.
[11:55] <@S.X. Aino> XP You should get a kick out of this too since you're a sci-fan fan.
[11:55] * FireFly_9 raises an eyebrow
[11:55] <@S.X. Aino> Hehehehehe knew I'd getchya with that.... imagine... if you will.... Star Trek... vs. Babylon 5....
[11:55] <FireFly_9> ..........
[11:55] <FireFly_9> No.
[11:56] <@S.X. Aino> Yessss~ Well as close as you're going to get thanks to those lovably insane finnish comedians...
[11:56] <FireFly_9> Explain. Now. Fully.
[11:57] <@S.X. Aino> I respond to your delightfully dark demand with this totally triptacular trailer! -->
[11:57] * FireFly_9 takes her time loading it.
[11:58] <@S.X. Aino> C'mon don't pretend you aren't hastily hitting that human interface device thingy... a "rat" was it/
[11:58] <FireFly_9> Mouse... and... you know me too well, Sakura-chan :)
[11:58] <@S.X. Aino> August 8~~~th....hihihihihihihihihihi
[11:58] * FireFly_9 lets it preload and thinks of something.
[11:59] <FireFly_9> Sakura-chan, would you say we are good friends?
[11:59] <@S.X. Aino> I'd like to think so, you and I have almost eerily parallel thought processses at times...
[11:59] * FireFly_9 nods.
[12:00] <FireFly_9> You and Chibiusa-chan... it occurs to me my two best friends are from the future.
[12:00] <@S.X. Aino> That's because the quality of the human race improves so much in a thousand years... XD
[12:00] <FireFly_9> But you're not human. And Chibiusa-chan is...
[12:01] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> sit u kno todie i saduzsed a men an wen hi wuz in da bathrom gatting kleened up 4 lovang i lacked ham in stoal al his kash frum has wallat an laft!11 mohshshshhshshshs
[12:01] <FireFly_9> A menace to society.... ><
[12:02] * @S.X. Aino is half Venusian / Half Gallifreyan, although since the Venusian part is more citizenship-wise and mom was still mostly human... hmmms
[12:02] <FireFly_9> Why don't you identify yourself as half-human then?
[12:03] * @S.X. Aino is 1) very prideful of her Gallifreyan heritage, and the DNA is mostly dominant anyway, and 2) has no desire to be lumped in with the "rabbits" of the galaxy.
[12:03] <FireFly_9> Rabbits? As in... the government of an Usagi?
[12:04] <@S.X. Aino> No more like humans breed like rabbits.
[12:04] <FireFly_9> A funny distinction to make considering Venus is the world of love.
[12:05] <@S.X. Aino> Well be that as it may I had exactly one mate, and he died of old age thousands of years ago relative to me. Decades for you.
[12:06] <@S.X. Aino> Venusians are very emotive, and are excellent metalsmiths, but are not as nearly as promiscuous as one might think... a full blooded one's pheremones, however, can drive other races wild. And it's surprisingly adaptable across species in regards to effect.
[12:06] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> ........
[12:06] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> skankura i wal facking PEY U 4 pharemoans
[12:07] * @S.X. Aino uses her Gallifreyan biocontrol to ruthlessly surpress hers, and even if she didn't she wouldn't give them to ~you~, you'd be the enemy of men everywhere
[12:07] <FireFly_9> She already is, Sakura-chan.
[12:07] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> bich u need 2 faking lasten 2 ur pincess
[12:08] <@S.X. Aino> I don't serve in your court :P And when you grow up you're a lot less... unscrupulous.
[12:08] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> fak u im kleen new, mai blod tasts all cam ot pasatif
[12:08] <@S.X. Aino> ....................
[12:09] <@S.X. Aino> Milady Serenity III, I can hardly wait for the day Aunt Ami drags you into the dungeon for 50 years of corrective brainwashing.
[12:09] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> ..|.. new dat u taoald mi itz navar going 2 happan
[12:09] <@S.X. Aino> You'll forget about it soon enough.
[12:10] <.`~SugaBB_2999~`.> new i woant bich
[12:10] * @S.X. Aino is away: brb
[12:10] *** .`~SugaBB_2999~`. [cndygrrl@gigaport.capitalnet.ct] has quit IRC (Broken Pipe)
[12:10] * @S.X. Aino is back
[12:10] <FireFly_9> Dare I ask?
[12:10] <@S.X. Aino> I introduced Lady Serenity III's head to the concept of a lead pipe.
[12:11] <FireFly_9> Sakura-chan... >< She is my best friend.
[12:11] <@S.X. Aino> If I were you I'd take advantage of her current state of mind-breaky to introduce new concepts to her, like... oh, I dunno... celibacy XD
[12:12] <FireFly_9> But that Anti-Viagra you gave her seems to be working just fine.
[12:12] <@S.X. Aino> Is it? She may not pump everythign she sees but
[12:12] <FireFly_9> "hump"
[12:12] <@S.X. Aino> Yes, that too I suppose, but now she's making a living using her body to manipulate men into getting what she wants.
[12:13] <FireFly_9> That is hardly unique to Chibiusa-chan.
[12:13] <@S.X. Aino> Maybe, but do you really want YOUR best friend and OUR future monarch having "Pink Princess Pimp" on her resume?
[12:14] <FireFly_9> Hmm. I think I'll defect from the empire and live with your family on Venus XD
[12:15] <@S.X. Aino> LOL where do you think you, Harry-P and the others go while Serenity II waves around the imperial baton? Poor Aunts Makoto, Ami, Rei and first time-track mom are stuck there under her ditzy thumb.
[12:16] <@S.X. Aino> Ironically you all chose to serve under Serenity III however. Well because Puu-P asked and it was about time for rapproachment.
[12:16] <FireFly_9> Shoudl you really be revealing this much about the future?
[12:17] <@S.X. Aino> Meh, it doesn't matter. These details which seem so new, fresh and exciting to you now will fade with the passing of moments, as the more mundane matters of everyday living crowd them out. You'd be surprised how surprised you will be when the future finally finds it's way to your world.
[12:17] * FireFly_9 sometimes doubts we'll even make it to that future.
[12:18] <@S.X. Aino> I'm not saying it's a dead certainty-- things could always happen to change future history... but it's a high stochastic probability. I'd bet my bow on it.
[12:19] <FireFly_9> I worry for this world, to be honest. The world of the future is something I choose not to care about until I reach it.
[12:20] <@S.X. Aino> Heh. To me, this world is dead, a faded photo of the past in which I can move about freely. My world... worlds, are a thousand years and half a billion light years away.
[12:20] * @S.X. Aino often wonders how Chibiusa percieves this time zone.
[12:20] <FireFly_9> I don't think Chibiusa-chan cares so long as there are men there.
[12:20] <@S.X. Aino> Hmms.
[12:21] <@S.X. Aino> Granted she does tend to be overly hormonal at times, but have you ever pondered as to the root of the behaviour?
[12:21] <FireFly_9> An electra complex as against her father.
[12:22] <@S.X. Aino> Yeahs... but think. In the future, she's living with her mother, and the inner senshi retinue, all of whom are female. The general public has no access to the palace. The only example of masculinity she HAS is her father. There literally is no one else.
[12:22] <FireFly_9> So... she imprints on him as the ideal man because for her that is all she knows a man to be?
[12:22] <@S.X. Aino> Bingo Bongo boomf.
[12:23] <FireFly_9> What about Elios? Isn't he there?
[12:23] <@S.X. Aino> Beep you just hit a classified zone XD
[12:23] <FireFly_9> Heh
[12:24] <@S.X. Aino> So anyways, that's why she hits on her pop. When she comes back to the past, now, after getting over that embarassing engramattic exhibition, she then realizes there's a whole wide, wild world of "men" to be had... Elios steps up first, using her for his oen ends...
[12:24] * FireFly_9 nods, listening
[12:26] <@S.X. Aino> So... if you think about it, Chibiusa's actually an innocent who was thrust into a world she was brarely prepared for, mentally. Her budding hormones just kind of blossomed all over the place.
[12:27] <FireFly_9> Maybe.
[12:27] <FireFly_9> Why are we talking about this again?
[12:27] <@S.X. Aino> I dunno XD
[12:28] <@S.X. Aino> I dont' serve in her court really so I don't honestly truly care all that much.
[12:28] <FireFly_9> I do because she's my best friend.
[12:29] <@S.X. Aino> Well if it soothes you any, as far as I know, she turns out Okays.
[12:29] <FireFly_9> As far as you know?
[12:30] <@S.X. Aino> Where... I mean "when" I come from, she's still in power. I do know from some scant interaction with my future self that her reign ends on an odd note, but I'm not privvy to details, nor do I want to check really as that might tie up my own timeline. I tend to operate away from this section of the Galaxy,
[12:31] <@S.X. Aino> That's why I'm not a fount of information regarding all of your personal futures (except for what I know when our paths have crossed)
[12:32] <FireFly_9> I prefer not to know of the future. I want to forge it through good works in the present.
[12:32] <@S.X. Aino> A noble aim, mine favourite Aunt.
[12:32] <FireFly_9> Please don't refer to me as an "aunt" it makes me feel ancient ><
[12:33] <@S.X. Aino> You are ancient of soul, Hotaru-P.
[12:33] <FireFly_9> As I suspect are you, Sakura-chan.
[12:33] <@S.X. Aino> We're two fuddie-duddies siting aroudn watching the universe going to heck in a handbasket XD
[12:34] <FireFly_9> Perfect metaphor for today's world -->
[12:35] <@S.X. Aino> Okees... I've *heard* of sheep jumping off a cliff like idiots but in all my time I've never actually *seen* it till now.
[12:37] <@S.X. Aino> A macabre, morbid metaphor of man's menial mentality.
[12:37] <FireFly_9> Indeed so.
[12:37] <@S.X. Aino> Well this got depressing fast... lol
[12:39] <@S.X. Aino> A moment of madness to nullify the nihilistic news, courtesy of Sailor Q from #suburbansenshi2 -->
[12:39] <FireFly_9> That was aliiteration and a rhyme, Sakura-chan.
[12:39] <@S.X. Aino> You type that as if it was a bad thing XD
[12:40] <FireFly_9> One of these days you will breka someone's brain. I hope you are aware of this.
[12:40] <@S.X. Aino> XD XD XD
[12:40] <@S.X. Aino> Neat typo
[12:42] <@S.X. Aino> (Italian Mobster voice) Aya Sakura-channa, youah gonna breaka somahoneah's braina, you kno datta?
[12:42] * FireFly_9 giggles
[12:42] * @S.X. Aino sighs
[12:43] <@S.X. Aino> Back in the 1920's your time one of my best friends was a woman named Soletta Orihime... she was a noble born of a Japanese father and an Italian mother... hearing her speak Japanese with an Italian accent was hilarious XD
[12:48] <FireFly_9> That was back when you were with the imperial fighting troupe, yes?
[12:48] <@S.X. Aino> Yuppers. The Teikoku Kagekidan.

[12:52] <@S.X. Aino> A momento from the good ol' days
[12:52] <FireFly_9> It's beautiful.
[12:53] <@S.X. Aino> They still sell reproductions today.
[12:53] <FireFly_9> Where's your name?
[12:53] <@S.X. Aino> At the top, partially covered. I went by "Shinguugi Sakura" back then.
[12:54] * FireFly_9 nods
[12:55] * @S.X. Aino misses those days... the era of steam power...
[12:56] <FireFly_9> I would think that someone like you from a culture of such high technology would find that laughably primitive.
[12:56] <@S.X. Aino> Well back then I was somewhat amnesiac and easily impressed by just about anything. I was even a bit clutzy and bumpkin-like LOL
[12:56] <@S.X. Aino> But there is a soft, hazy sweet nostalgia to the simpler time...
[12:58] * FireFly_9 prefers a time before technology period.
[12:59] <@S.X. Aino> But you like books and printing presses were technological-- unless you imply you only prefer Akkadian chiseling in tablets?
[12:59] <FireFly_9> :P
[13:00] * FireFly_9 thinks the 1700s were nice and calm times.
[13:00] <@S.X. Aino> I've been there. They stank. Literally. Overcrowding and animal waste in the streets. Chamberpots would routinely be emptied out of second story windows onto the passers-by below.
[13:01] <FireFly_9> ><
[13:02] <@S.X. Aino> At least pick a time period with flush toilets... although they had them in China thousands of years ago.
[13:02] * FireFly_9 marvels at the meandering topic of conversation.
[13:03] <@S.X. Aino> From Sci-Fi to flush toiletry, a fairly typical day in channel I should think.
[13:04] <FireFly_9> Now we just need to drag the others in here.
[13:04] <@S.X. Aino> It'll happen. Lulls occur but are seldom permanent.
[13:04] * FireFly_9 hopes.
[13:05] <@S.X. Aino> Busy is as busy does, as they say.
[13:06] <FireFly_9> I don't even know what that's supposed to mean.
[13:07] * @S.X. Aino is away: Ponder it~

22 comments ( including mine )? Wow! I haven't seen this many comments to a single post in quite a while.

Solarchos [e-mail] • 07/13/05 06:54pm

(The Lurker delurks again to respond to Saruka's comment by pointing out that while in the anime Minako is closer to Makoto than anyone, in the manga Minako and Usagi are almost sisters; and in PGSM while Minako really isn't close to anyone but Artemis, there's an odd dynamic between her and Rei...)

(Also, in ST vs. B5, the fight that would be REALLY intersting would be Worf and G'Kar. I imagine they'd beat each other senseless, then go see an opera together.)

The Lurker • 07/13/05 12:38pm

But looking at the series, on a purely personal level she's closer to Makoto than Usagi (of course everyone cares deeply for Usagi), just as Usagi is closer to Rei. (Although in the manga Usagi misses her more)

S.X. Aino • 07/13/05 09:01am

Sakura: Heehee, fair enough. I like everything else about Suburban Senshi, and it's great to see the Outers getting their due. It's just, I dunno, I'd expect Minako to miss her closest dearest friend sometimes.

Seishiko Tomoe-Shigami • 07/13/05 05:31am

Nothing in particularly to comment on, just a very enjoyable chat :)

Sailor Mewtwo [e-mail] • 07/12/05 01:13pm

(gently points out that _Sub. Senshi_ is about the outer Senshi not the inners, that _Sailor Moon_ is all about Usagi / Mamoru, and that one can go there if they want her to be given her due.)

S.X. Aino • 07/12/05 06:37am

(teleports back in... stupid brother and his maniacal world take overs, sigh...)

Yeah, I know that the other characters are sort of OOC, but Usagi just seems WAAAAAY the heck too OOC. I mean, you still get glimpses of the real depths of Haruka and Michiru, for example, despite them being turned into parodies (I mean this in a good way, btw). But Usagi doesn't seem to get the same treatment.

I guess my problem is that she is a completely OOC character in a host of semi-OOC characters. If all the others were completely OOC as well, I'd have no problems, but all the others are echoes of themselves, while Usagi is COMPLETELY unrecognizable (as NQS, anyway). I guess I just feel that, like Haruka and Michiru, her good qualities need some time to shine in this series.

Sakura: I did, in fact, read Part 4 and had been hoping that that could be the nice happy ending that she and Mamoru deserve. But now she's trapped being a maid, her friends have all forgotten about her (what the heck?) and she's separated from Mamoru who seems destined to be Setsuna's plaything. Noooo, poor Usagi! I'm almost tempted to write something for the extended universe to get those two back together and give them their happy ending, and actually make Minako stand up for her best friend. But then, I barely keep track of the normal IRC box, so I'd be lost. ;P

Right, better get back, before Dad and my brother get in another fight. I just hope Dad doesn't notice I stole his Masamune...

Seishiko Tomoe-Shigami • 07/12/05 05:36am

Solar: Right, Vorlon-skinned ships can learn and adapt. Thus a smart commander would hit them with enough power to blow them up in one go so they can't learn XD

Warlock class ships were experiemental EA vessels and I doubt they have very many.

Needless to say I'm betting on starfleet. I love the EA, but those boys are still using projectile shells, and Minbari beams are no better than phasers...

Now shadow beams, there's some fun for ya :)

S.X. Aino • 07/11/05 03:29pm

O_O...The Hell...? Sailor Moon, Babylon 5, and Star Trek...this is into a Sci-Fi convention debate!

Jup, dear friend, you need a serious vacation! XD

Saturn Knight • 07/11/05 03:23pm

Two Ships... USS Enterprise E and USS Soverign. 'nuff said on that!

Don't count on the USS Titan though since she's in a different galaxy altogether(And the Luna class starships were not meant for battle anyhow unlike the Ageis, Soverign, Akira, Defiant, Steamrunner, and Sabre classes), ironicly the same one the USS Excelsior found herself in(Yes the same Excelsior that Tuvok served aboard. That poor Vulcan has no luck staying his own part of the galaxy). And let's not forget the Klingons and the now friendlier Romulans.

I like the White Stars Fleet though and put good money on them to massive damage but not enough.

Yeah, I got labeled "warmonger" just because I tended to throw my fleet into battle with Sharline's to protect my love. It's more of a misunderstood thing really, except even Usagi took it to the extreme. However, after Beryl, the R season incident, the Nehilinia affiar, and the Galaxia strike, I probably understand why she is the way she is...

Jupiter Knight • 07/11/05 02:20pm

(The Lurker delurks to comment)

I'd forgotten how incredibly exciting Babylon5 space battles were. I'll have to go and rewatch the series.

(As for ST vs. B5: Any battle taking place near the station is an automatic win for Earthforce. The Great Machine trumps anything the Federation could bring to bear.)

RE Sheep: I saw an interview with a modern day shepherd once who said sheep were some of the most dumb-all creatures in existance... EXCEPT when it came to getting into trouble / themselves killed. If you had a billion acre pasture that contained one tiny spot where, by supernatural effort, a sheep might possibly injure itself; that's where they'd all run like heat seeking missles.

The shepherd seemed a bit put out about that.

Seishiko Tomoe-Shinigami: Think of these as alternative versions of the Sailor Moon characters we know and love, with some marked differences. In Usagi's case, her negative attributes (jealously, thoughtlessness, tendancy to over-react, etc) have been hyped, while the purity, good heartedness, and love for all, even her enemies, have been reduced.

It's a comedy with some dark elements. Don't sweat it.

(Although some people here DO seem to hate Usagi, in whatever form she takes. It makes one wonder if they hate her because of what she is; or because of what they can never be...)

The Lurker • 07/11/05 12:29pm

holy crap...Sakura has become possessed by the spirit of Minako the Genki!

guess it's true what they say, like mother like daughter. XD

SaturnGrl [e-mail] • 07/10/05 09:49pm

Actually, Sakura, some unremarkable trivia here but Earth Alliance starships have something called an "interceptor grid" that act as partial shields...and the White Stars, the Excaliber, and the EA's "Warlock"-class destroyers all have Vorlon defense grids. "Most of the energy is refracted away, leaving only the surface impact." - Lenier

"Well as my grandfather used to" - Capt. John Sheridan.

Either way, it'd be one hell of a fight to watch.

Solarchos [e-mail] • 07/10/05 04:42pm

You pose a good argument! But that assumes that the rest of the characters aren't different from the way they're shown. Isn't it a tad unfair to be picky over Usagi? :(

Still, I can see your point.

starcat [e-mail] • 07/09/05 09:03pm

Serenity II isn't Evil, just ditzy and overly possessive of her man, which leads her to go to extremes. If you read Part 4 of my tale she eventually does retire for a good long while to be with the man she loves.

S.X. Aino • 07/09/05 08:58pm

Ahh... I might be a bit out of the loop in terms of the backstory, but what the heck is with all the NQS II hate? I mean, this is USAGI we're talking about, you know, Minako/Rei/Makoto/Ami's best friend? The girl with the purest and sweetest heart in the galaxy? I mean, I realize that there's some odd thing going on in this dimension involving animate bracelets, but isn't it rather rampagingly OOC to make her into this kinda villain? Just saying, that's all. I'm hoping that she eventually gets a happy ending with Mamoru-san, and that Minako remembers that Usagi is her best friend, after all.

But then, what do I know? ;-)

*teleports back to her own dimension, where NQS II is the good and wise queen she always has been, even if she is a little fluffy*

Seishiko Tomoe-Shinigami • 07/09/05 08:32pm

But Babylon 5 ships have no shi~~elds....

S.X. Aino • 07/09/05 06:23pm

Heard of the sheep loong ago. Okay, yesterday. Nako makes for a good news source. :D

starcat [e-mail] • 07/09/05 05:13pm

Star Trek vs. Babylon 5? Starfleet would *SO* get its ass kicked by the White Stars and the Minbari. As for the sheep...looks like they were part of a sheep cult. I heard there was a cow cult just like it somewhere out in a town called South Park.

Solarchos [e-mail] • 07/09/05 04:46pm

Ahahahaha Sheep jumping off cliffs, I heard that on Attack of the Show earlier XD

Indigo [e-mail] • 07/09/05 01:59pm

Moonstar • 07/09/05 12:37pm
