[12:58] <Cést_la_V> Check out what I read on!!

According to a post on the Japanese Super Robot Taisen BBS , Sunrise Studios announced yesterday that the Inuyasha TV series will conclude in September and be replaced in October by Mobile Suit Gundam Seed 2. The first report on Gundam Seed 2 will appear in an unspecified Japanese anime magazine next month.

[12:58] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Finally
[12:58] <FireFly_9> This coming from someone who thinks Dragonball ended before its time...
[12:59] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Look, in DB / DBZ and even DBGT, things never stayed the *same*. Everyone learned new techniques and powered up, and generally evolved in the series. In IY it's always the same... "Kazanna! Hiroikatsu! Hana-bi! Sankontessu / Kazeno Kizu / Bakawhateveryuro"
[13:01] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> They haven't evolved at ALL since IY learned that last move, and they just use the same old tricks on the bad guys
[13:01] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Whereas the bad guys keeping leveling like mofos
[13:02] <FireFly_9> Which just implies the "good guys" will up the ante later on...
[13:02] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Shyeah right. I was all excited when they all gathered around that mountain, I thought they were gonna throw down and end it all, but then they split up again
[13:03] <FireFly_9> Well, now we know it's definitely going to end.
[13:03] <// J_Daito //> Yes, like Ranma, probably... hmph. I could have ended Ranma... *permanently*
[13:03] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> And I could take out the Inu crew...
[13:05] <FireFly_9> How would you defeat the Kazanna?
[13:05] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Slice off Lech-boy's hand with the Space Sword Blaster...
[13:05] <// J_Daito //> Haha that would probably cure him of the curse...
[13:06] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Yah I'd be doin him a favor... I'd just get that metalsmith guy who sounds like King Kai to make him a new robotic superarm like Ash got in Army of Darkness.... he'd be stronger than before heheeh
[13:06] <FireFly_9> Leave it to you to find the silver lining in a brutal and callous amputation
[13:07] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Man, when ASH had his hand go bad he cut it's ass off, he didn't whine and cry about it like Miroku
[13:07] <// J_Daito //> Now to be fair, he turned it into a WEAPON, Ten'ou.... that was impressive
[13:07] <--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> yeah "Lookit me I'm the hoovervac monk, kami's gift to women"
[13:08] <// J_Daito //> heh

It hasn't ended yet? Even in Japan? Wow. For some reason I thought it had. . .

Personaly, I find DBZ to just e a money cow now adays. "Oh no! A new bad guy! We must beat him! Oh no! Krilin/Goku/Gohan has died again! Now we have to get the dragon balls, AGAIN! Oh look, new powers that are even more ultimate then the ulimate powers we gained before, and the time before that, and so on and so forth!" And they say this as if they're shocked. ⌐.⌐;

Well September is the fall, so perhaps Takahashi-sensei has given the anime people a heads up (she has to keep them appraised a few eps ahead anyway because it takes time to make anime)

Or they could do what they did with Ranma and switch to OAVS...

As to what you said, you are correct, real people don't power up that much, but after seeing Naraku-tachi constantly becomng stronger, I definitely would feel the need to acquire some more skills... maybe not at such a frenetic pace as Dragonball (which in its own way did set a limit as to how strong people could get, Fusions were needed to overcome it), but still, I wouldn't remain stagnant... Miroku and Sango seem to be getting into trouble more than solving it these days, which is sad.

And sadly I don't find Naraku as interesting as say Sesshomaru or the new kid born of Naraku... to me he's become a sort of one-trick (hide / power up / run away) kind of guy... more villains (and not just throwaways) might be nice...

That being said I *am* an IY fan so please don't think I'm bashing for no reason :)

Personally I don't think that this is true...the IY tv show is doing well enough in both Japan and the US (not that the US matters..but you know), and the manga is ending sometime this fall/early winter so if that's going to be soon, why not just push the ending of the anime until it can meet the manga...
And in any case, since this is a comment board, I might as well say this: I disagree with your opinion on the story...sure they don't level up all too often, but this kind of makes it more realistic. Real people don't learn new 'attacks' every three days...there's a limit as to how strong a person can get ^_^ I agree with you that the story has gone on long enough - I mean, 148- episodes for *one bad guy* is more than enough, although more enemies would get annoying, so yeah - my point is that there are *other* elements to the story which make it okay that the main enemy hasn't been defeated yet. Yeah....*cough* well at least that's the point I hope I ^_^
