1376   Haruka's Outlook on s[BLEEP]t

[00:55] <Mdm_Maestro> What is missing in today's youth is a sense of personal accountability.
[00:55] <SpeedRcrX> Man you sound like you're 50 years old or something, Michi
[00:58] <Mdm_Maestro> Tch. It's always someone else's fault when things go wrong. It isn't that urban sprawl and heavier vehicles led to a rise in gas prices, it's the oil company's faults for making it so expensive.
[00:58] <SpeedRcrX> Well some of it is their fault...
[00:59] <Mdm_Maestro> I just find there to be a great deal of hypocrisy in the world today
[01:00] <SpeedRcrX> Man, you can't let that s[BLEEP]t get to you. People say and do things to keep their minds and sanity intact.
[01:01] <SpeedRcrX> I mean if you really sat there and thought "Oh my god, each second I spend on the computer is burning fuel which has caused oil to be used which polluted the atmosphere and is melting the north pole ice" and REALLY, HONESTLY took that s[BLEEP]t to heart you'd commit suicide after a while.
[01:02] <SpeedRcrX> Because just LIVING today, unless you're a Patagonian tribesman, has an impact.
[01:02] <SpeedRcrX> People have to f[BLEEP]king rationalize and just to keep going with their everyday lives. You can't take it personally.
[01:03] <Mdm_Maestro> Nonsense. Blame exists and should be accepted. It is the honorable and correct thing to do.
[01:03] <SpeedRcrX> Unrealistic.
[01:03] <SpeedRcrX> Nobody except a Buddha or a Saint takes on all the flak for what they do.
[01:04] <SpeedRcrX> It was never this way and it will never be this way.
[01:04] <// J_Daito //> WHY SO SERIOUS
[01:04] <// J_Daito //> HAVE A COMIC

[01:05] <SpeedRcrX> Mmm Booth Babes
[01:05] <Mdm_Maestro> You don't understand anything, either of you. Everything is crashing down, and no one takes responsibility!
[01:05] <SpeedRcrX> LOL you sound like hotaru
[01:05] <Mdm_Maestro> :/
[01:06] <SpeedRcrX> Listen
[01:06] <SpeedRcrX> If I waited for every mofo on the planet to sit up and do what they had to do; to do the "right" thing, I'd be dissappointed so many times.
[01:07] <SpeedRcrX> Sometimes you gotta just roll with it, come what may.
[01:07] <SpeedRcrX> Hold to your guns and not wait on honor and honesty from the other guy. Rely on what you know is right your damn self.
[01:08] <SpeedRcrX> If the world is broken, you gotta fix it yourself, not wait and hope and pray that everyone else will own up to their s[BLEEP]t one day and repent.
[01:09] <SpeedRcrX> Why the hell do you think I gave Usagi-chan such s[BLEEP]t? She just sat there and hoped magic would fix s[BLEEP]t.
[01:09] <SpeedRcrX> sometimes you gotta get your hands dirty to fix what's broken. YOU of all people should know this.
[01:09] <Mdm_Maestro> Meh... it's just that sometimes I want to have more hope for the world than that.
[01:10] <SpeedRcrX> Heh
[01:10] <SpeedRcrX> When we first met, I was the f[BLEEP]king optimist, and you were the hardcore Senshi. That kinda flipped, hasn't it
[01:10] <Mdm_Maestro> Indeed. Sometimes you scare me, Haruka. :P
[01:10] <SpeedRcrX> Good.
[01:11] <SpeedRcrX> People might think I'm some lazy beer-swilling doormat who ain't paying attention in the glory days of my retirement but I keep my damn eyes open.
[01:11] <SpeedRcrX> I know the score.
[01:11] <SpeedRcrX> And I'll do what I have to when I need to.
[01:13] <SpeedRcrX> And if people don't like it, tough. Saving the world isn't a popularity contest.
[01:13] <Mdm_Maestro> But in this kind of a world people might not even care they've been saved ><
[01:14] <SpeedRcrX> Y'know this is why I could never be a politican.
[01:14] <SpeedRcrX> Politicians care too much about how they look, and about appearances. Trying to please everyone and be all politically correct may paper s[BLEEP]t over a lot of the time, but it just makes s[BLEEP]t worse at the end of the day.
[01:15] <SpeedRcrX> Sometimes you just need to f[BLEEP]king do what needs doing and take the hit when it comes.
[01:15] <SpeedRcrX> I believe that and I will stand by that till the day I die.
[01:16] <Mdm_Maestro> Haruka, hopefully that will be a long time from now :)
[01:16] <SpeedRcrX> ;)

Did someone say game convention? I didn't see booth babes at Origins, but have noticed less and less "real" wargaming events from one year to the next. It may be time for someone to shine a spotlight on what inspired folks to set up conventions like these in the first place.
