[18:32] <// J_Daito //> So a bunch of pathetic halfwits decide they'd like fame and fortune and so decide to blatantly rip off a far more popular property and make it their own.
[18:32] <FireFly_9> ...
[18:33] <// J_Daito //> then they go all over the internet and spam websites trying to make themselves and their s[BLEEP]tty ripoff look good.
[18:33] <FireFly_9> Jedite...
[18:37] <// J_Daito //> I am, of course, referring to the creators of the game, "Limbo of the Lost" (s[BLEEP]tty hilarious trailer here.
[18:37] <FireFly_9> It looks like a 7-year old got his hands on Windows Movie Maker and a synth and decided to make a trailer.
[18:39] <// J_Daito //> Well if you have no skill, copy... and copy they did.
[18:39] <FireFly_9> ... I don't game and even *I've* heard of Oblivion. What were they thinking?
[18:39] <// J_Daito //> I don't think there was thought involved at any point, Tomoe.
[18:40] <// J_Daito //> Observe the level of infantile spammery they resort to:

[18:51] <FireFly_9> ...
[18:51] <FireFly_9> That is... incredibly weak.
[18:52] <// J_Daito //> Here's the rest of that thread
[18:54] <FireFly_9> * is reading this *
[18:55] <FireFly_9> ...these are minutes of my life I am not getting back, Jedite...
[18:56] <// J_Daito //> There should be an internet Drama Queen award
[18:57] <// J_Daito //> I say we make one
[18:57] <FireFly_9> Why, it just gives them attention.
[18:59] <// J_Daito //> :d
[19:05] <FireFly_9> Oh god, they released another trailer.
[19:05] <FireFly_9> and I think I saw footage from "Spawn" in it.
[19:06] <// J_Daito //> I want to play this for the amusement value
[19:11] <FireFly_9> * is now slowly reading the neogaf thread *

FireFly_9 pasted:
Do you believe in Fate or Destiny? If not, maybe you should reconsider as the twin brothers, Fate and Destiny, are battling for supremacy over Mankind! Their battleground: a vast citadel called The Keep of Lost Souls, created before time and in a realm known as LIMBO. If Fate wins, the 7th Gate to the Kingdom of Shadows will be opened, Armageddon shall be birthed and Mankind will suffer for all eternity. If Destiny wins, mankind prospers. Fate's weapons of choice are the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, the devious puzzles of the Keep and a few unsavory characters. Destiny's weapon is Captain Benjamin S. Briggs and...You! Captain Briggs carries the Seal to the book of Sufferance, a book crafted by the Elders, scripted from the souls of the Lost and inked with their blood and suffering. The Evil Four Horsemen guard this precious tome at the very top of the Keep and the Captain will have to reach this most ancient of books and seal it. The way ahead will be a path drenched in puzzles and littered with denizens of the Keep. His only true ally is you! Limbo of the Lost is a scary adventure game set in the world of the undead. Do you have what it takes to right the wrong and save mankind? Plunge into an original fantasy world, where the undead are waiting to meet you. [19:16] <// J_Daito //> Heh it all sounds so wonderful on paper then they suck you in and you realize it's just another clusterf[BLEEP]k.

[19:21] <FireFly_9> hahahah
[19:21] <FireFly_9> "It's going to be a sad realization when these idiots come to realize how much they suck."
[19:22] <FireFly_9> How very true.

[19:41] <FireFly_9> I'm pretty sure the cover is a ripped off Necronomicon from Army of Darkness.
[19:43] <// J_Daito //> No, it's different.

[19:50] <=^catablanca^=> I walk in here and I see this and it is AWESOME.
[19:51] <=^catablanca^=> The neograf thread is just incredible :D
[19:53] <=^catablanca^=> "This thread feels like the climax of Act 1 of the internet."
[19:53] <FireFly_9> YES. More than Anon. More than YTMND.
[19:53] <FireFly_9> THIS is the beginning of the new story!
[19:56] <=^catablanca^=> "This is surely a landmark event in gaming history, kind of like E.T. for the Atari 2600 was."
[19:56] <// J_Daito //> I had a copy of that game and threw it out
[19:56] <=^catablanca^=> ...
[19:57] <// J_Daito //> What
[19:57] <=^catablanca^=> Nothing

[19:58] <FireFly_9> the intro and the first 10 minutes:
[20:00] <// J_Daito //> It hought you said this was time you couldn't get back, Tomoe
[20:00] <FireFly_9> It's a train wreck I am now deeply engrossed in.
[20:07] <=^catablanca^=> * watches this 10 minute thing *
[20:07] <=^catablanca^=> Good GRIEF hahahah
[20:08] <=^catablanca^=> OH LOL the SAVE SCREEN
[20:09] <// J_Daito //> It looks like Slimer is compelling the hero to engage in forced ectoplasmic fellatio

[20:13] <=^catablanca^=> "It's like Oblivion meets Morrowind meets Diablo II meets Painkiller meets Unreal Tournament 2003 meets Enclave meets Unreal Tournament 2004 meets Black & White meets Thief: Deadly Shadows meets Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines meets Return to Castle Wolfenstein meets World of Warcraft"
[21:01] <@Dr. Xadium> Oh boy oh boy
[21:01] <@Dr. Xadium> Just jumping in for a second to show off something I found:
[21:03] <@Dr. Xadium> There have been leaked photos of certain baddies in the Doctor Who season 4 finale. Don't look if you don't want to be spoiled, but if you do, then feast your eyes.

Console of Darkness' first review, Limbo of the Lost! I must be insane, I really must. Keep watch, it's done by X's request~

Shaldra Darkness [e-mail] • 06/15/08 01:14am

And Limbo of the Lost looks like epic lameness in the making. I mean, there are a *few* elements which did remind me of the first Diablo (which was quite cool and I still have it), but it certainly AIN'T Morrowind or Oblivion or Unreal Tournament or Black & White or Painkiller or Vampire or Thief or World of Warcraft. I mean, the animation was choppy, the lip syncing not nearly as effective as they claimed, the movement controls average at best, and the "all-star cast" was just a bunch of characters of their own making. I mean, Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout: BoS had all-star casts with voice-actors such as Richard Dean Anderson, Ron Pearlman, Cree Summers, C C H Pounder, Michael Dorn, Kurtwood Smith, and R. Lee Emry. THAT is an all-star cast!

I sense grand riffage in the near future.

Solarchos [e-mail] • 06/14/08 09:14pm

Ah, a return to one of the original, classic old-school arch-villains of the whole show!

Solarchos [e-mail] • 06/14/08 09:04pm

Oh, you make me want to go all the way back to season 2/3 and catch up on all that I've missed.

...But I have enough things on my agenda.

Indigo • 06/14/08 07:13am

I CAN SEE THE FILENAMES oh god o_o

well, one image (I think) was already shown in the trailer. I don't know what the other one is by name only though.

...I am too chicken to spoil myself.
